Vic: School bus catches fire north of Melbourne
A bus carrying school students to the Victorian snowfields has caught fire north of Melbourne.
Country Fire Authority spokesman PETER PHILP says the driver got everyone off the bus
after a tyre caught fire about 6.40am (AEST) on the Maroondah Highway.
He says the bus was well alight when firefighters arrived at the scene, about 90 kilometres
north of Melbourne near the town of Yea.
The bus was destroyed, but no-one was injured.
The children are believed to be from Brighton Secondary College in Melbourne.
