Vic: Prolific toll evader in court
MELBOURNE, Feb 26 AAP - Victoria's most prolific toll evader did not realise he hadto pay to use Melbourne's CityLink road system, a court heard today.
Christos Katsimalis, 69, pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates Court to a record223 counts of using CityLink toll roads without an e-tag.
Prosecutor Robert Taylor told the court Katsimalis had driven "everywhere" on CityLinkbetween February 2000 and June last year, racking more than $22,000 in fines.
Katsimalis now faces a maximum penalty of five times that amount or more than $111,000.
He must also pay almost $9,000 in compulsory …
