World: Questions have been raised about the US account of a firefight in central Iraq.
Police in the US are shown on a video beating a man who later died. A man accused of murdering
two schoolgirls in the UK says he accepts responsibility for their deaths.
Business: Corporate executives have welcomed new Labor leader Mark Latham but are expecting
ongoing policy differences with the party. Analysts say the Reserve Bank of Australia
will raise interest rates today. The Stuart shale project is in doubt after Southern Pacific
Petroleum was placed into receivership.
Sport: Brisbane's green wicket will add to India's woes in their first test against
Australia. Cronulla has named Stuart Draper as the replacement to sacked coach Chris Anderson.
