Cleveland Hill High School economics teacher Robert Haley was recognized by Visa Inc. as national "Innovative Educator" for the month of March. Haley used the very low ranking Buffalo Bills fans received earlier this year on the leaderboard of Visa Inc.'s free, online personal finance video game, Financial Football, as motivation to introduce his students to the game and propel the Bills to the top of the leaderboard rankings. He has been teaching economics, government and world history for 10 years. The Innovative Educator award, part of Visa's Practical Money Skills for Life program, is handed out monthly to one or more teachers nationwide who demonstrate a commitment to bringing personal finance education into their classroom.
Robert S. Wills qualified for Waddell & Reed's annual Circle of Champions conference, recognizing the company's top financial advisers. This year's event will be held in San Diego. Wills has been a professional in the financial services industry for 10 years and counsels clients throughout the Buffalo community on their long-term investment goals. He joined Waddell & Reed in 2001.
Gross Shuman Brizdle & Gilfillan attorney David H. Alexander presented a cross-border estate and tax planning seminar recently in Ellicottville, focusing on important changes to the U.S. estate tax laws that will significantly impact Canadians who own real estate in the United States. A second session of the seminar, co-presented by Adam J. Cappelli, an Ontario lawyer of Cambridge LLPwas held earlier this month.

Stampede, an Amherst-based distributor of professional audiovideo solutions, signed a new agreement with longtime partner HSBCBank to provide 75 percent more working capital to the firm. The credit-line increase follows a record-setting year for Stampede, with revenues up 25 percent in 2010.

Cisco unveiled the winners recently at its annual channelpartner conference in New Orleans. The award recognizes itsperformance and expertise as a Cisco channel partner in the Eastregion in 2010. The company has offices in Buffalo, Phelps,Trumansburg and Romulus.
TVGA Consultants, an engineering, environmental, land survey and architecture firm, was awarded the remedial investigation and alternatives analysis for the A&A Metals site in Perry, by the the Wyoming County Business Center (WCBC), Wyoming County and the Wyoming County Industrial Development Agency. The project is to be conducted under the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program, which provides tax credits for cleanup and redevelopment activities. WCBC intends to remediate the property and return it to productive use.

Contributing
The WCA Hospital Auxiliary donated $3,072 for the recently openedWCA Center for Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Therapy, at 31 Sherman St. in Jamestown. The donation was used to purchase a total body elliptical.
